As someone who hated, and still hates, Hillary’s guts with the fire of 999 suns, neither a dictatorship nor a civil war was ever a real possibility. In fairness, whether you think this is better or worse probably depends on how you feel about some of the hot button conservative/liberal issues, most of which I think are fucking stupid. The second amendment means we should allow for private militias that could be reasonably expected to give the federal government’s standing army a bloody nose. A couple million idiots with ARs ain’t gonna do that.

Which brings me to the other side: mass shootings are the result of the cesspool of socially disintegrated people that has been growing since...well I won’t go into that. But suffice to say that bombs (and guns, for that matter) are easy enough to make, even for the home gamer, that simply disarming the population isn’t going to stop the problem, only shift it to a different medium.

The broader point being: Trump is like the pnemonia you get when you have AIDS. Yes, he is a disease, but he’s the disease you get when you shit on the country’s largest voting bloc for long enough. Republicans didn’t care about them because they were poor and racist, and so they were an embarrassment, Democrats used them as a convenient demographic to demonize to draw attention away from the fact that rich white Democrats actually give zero fucks (as far as their policy goes) for solving issues around poverty and race. They would much prefer to hold galas and pass legislation that helps them feel superior.

There were anywhere from an estimated 40,000 to 60,000 Taliban in Afghanistan during the war. It’s been SEVENTEEN YEARS and we still don’t have those nuts subjugated completely. It’s sad but, I don’t think our military’s chances against a million gun toting militants are that great.

Sure they would. When you don’t care about civilians ending a guerilla war is much easier. The allied forces took the moral high ground in Afghanistan, and rightfully so. If the US government were to hypothetically turn on its population it won’t care about that population either and would just use a few drones to take you out.
